SHOULD I SEALCOAT MY DRIVEWAY? | WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SEALING MY DRIVEWAY?
Yes, asphalt sealer works in 2 ways: Protection and Appearance. 
Protection: Asphalt sealer penetrates into the pours of asphalt and create a layer on the surface that helps  prevent water from freezing inside the blacktop, expanding, and causing cracks.
Appearance: Sealer works great to cover old grey asphalt to make it look new again. It also helps cover stains and bring a uniform look when new asphalt is added onto old. 

ASPHALT PROS SEALCOATING AND DRIVEWAY REPAIR PROCESS:
*Before sealcoating, if you are interested in making your driveway wider or longer, you should pave new asphalt add-ons first.*
Step 1 - Patch: Any non salvageable blacktop areas or holes will be cut out and replaced with hot mix asphalt or cold patch depending on size of the area needing repaired. 
Step 2 - Clean: Cleaning is crucial for sealer to penetrate into the pours and also adhere to the surface. Once grass is cut away from edges and removed from cracks, we use high powered leaf blowers, wire broom brushes, and in some extreme cases pressure washers to make sure all dirt and loose stones are removed. 
Step 3 - Crack Fill: After deep, wide cracks are cleaned we use cold or hot crack filler depending on size. 
Step 4 - Trim: Hand brushed edges are sealed close to concrete, houses, garages, decorative stones and pavers. This ensures no unwanted over spray will come close to areas we do not want sprayed. 
Step 5 - Spray: We will then spray an even coat of sealer over the entire driveway.
Step 6 - Tape: We then tape off all entrances with caution tape, clean up, and we are done. 

HOW LONG DOES ASPHALT SEALER LAST? 
When mixed properly, asphalt sealer should last 2-3 years before you should consider re-applying another layer. If you wait much longer than that, it will fade and loose its protective properties. If you seal it sooner than that, you risk over filling the pours of the blacktop and causing a slick surface when wet.
