ASPHALT PAVING PROCESS | PROJECT DAY OVERVIEW:
Step 1: Base - In order to have a well installed driveway that lasts decades,  it requires a solid foundation.
Delaware's soil is mainly sand and since we are so close to the water table digging below the surface and adding stone and gravel is almost always necessary. Depending on the current state of your driveway, we may use #2 size stones, crush and run or even crushed concrete to stabilize and create a solid base to pave over.
Step 2: After a firm base is established, we finely grade the driveway and we use lasers to ensure that the grade will drain water in the proper locations. 
Step 3: We use quality equipment, operated by trained professionals to pave a minimum of 3" of hot mix asphalt. 
Step 4: We compact roll and tamp the driveway to settle the asphalt into its final resting position.
Step 5: We will sweep the surrounding area to clean up excess blacktop and debris and then caution tape all entrances off from traffic. 

HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT BEFORE DRIVING ON MY NEW DRIVEWAY? 
Walk on new blacktop in 24 hrs
Drive on new blacktop in 72 hrs 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BLACKTOP MY DRIVEWAY?
Our estimates will include a start and end date. Most residential driveways are completed within 1-2 days. Some projects may require additional time depending on weather conditions and the size of the driveway.

Most asphalt companies charge between $3 to $5 per square foot. What determines the exact price per square foot is project and company specific.
before giving a price, here are a few common factors that we consider and look for.
Base: How much material is needed to get the foundation solid? Difficulty: is there cutting or excavating needed to remove tree roots, old concrete or asphalt? Location: Are we paving a walk way in the woods, or are we downtown somewhere paving a driveway on a busy street? Size: Are we paving 200 sqft or 2,000 sqft?
