DELAWARES ASPHALT MILLINGS CONTRACTOR

ASPHALT MILLINGS

WHAT ARE ASPHALT MILLINGS? | WHAT ARE BLACKTOP MILLINGS?
Asphalt millings are the byproduct from grinding up hardened asphalt. Local plants will then sell the asphalt millings to be repurposed.

ASPHALT MILLINGS PROCESS | PROJECT DAY OVERVIEW:
Step 1: Base - Unlike hot mix asphalt, Asphalt millings can be used as a base and a surface. This is due to its cure time being longer than blacktop and it remaining more flexible than blacktop when cured. We recommend that if you are paving millings over dirt and sand that you put a few inches of crushed concrete or crush and run to help the longevity of your millings.
Step 2: Pave a minimum of 3" inches.
Step 3: Compact roll and tamp the driveway to settle the asphalt millings into its final resting position.
Step 4: Sweep the surrounding area to clean up excess millings and debris and then caution tape all entrances off from traffic.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PAVE ASPHALT MILLINGS?
Our estimates will include a start and end date. Most residential driveways are completed within 1-2 days. Some projects may require additional time depending on weather conditions and the size of the driveway.
